One of the things Jim does is grow a cover crop during the growing season to keep his soil biology happy & fired up. Jim says, “Sometimes I feel like I’m a cover crop grower who plants a few pumpkin seeds in his cover crop.” I’m giving it a try this year. Jim plants winter rye. I couldn’t find any winter rye seed at this time of the year, but this cover crop mix is 50% rye.
