Left: Squash on the 1677. Sibbed. I had a different one in mind but it was a bit lethargic.
Right: 1448 Bongers is lethargic, it has a bit of the shrivel-butt thing so it won't reach its full potential. I dont think this is a plant size issue...there's enough leaves. So I do think its nutrients. Probably a lapse in calcium during the heat or due to too much overhead irrigation. Also the boron in the rootzone might be low?
The roots need boron. The plant can move a foliar application of boron to the roots.... but I'm thinking I need a uniform/ "homogenized" boost to the boron levels in the soil? There is enough calcium in this soil, in theory. Excess potassium is probably hindering any progress with the other nutrients.
Or perhaps the nutrients are there, but it's a generally poor effort on my part to promote extensive, healthy rooting.
