Very agressive "S" curve. Is this just something that gets much more important with bigger fruit? My 700 pounders I just try to make a 90° at the fruit and that's all.

The perfect S! I flew up there that year right before harvest and that fruit was an absolute boulder!! It wasn't the biggest fruit in the patch but don't let the size fool you!

Thanks for sharing Rmen!

Yes Russ, the S acts as a spring, it is the best way to accommodate the main vine before the cod and always the main vine, raised from the ground. I have seen photos of growers who raise the pumpkin but not the main vine, that's of little use.
