The pumpkin did no noticeable weight gain for the 1st week after the main had broke. But in this past week it grew 4 inches in circumference. I had measured it a few times and came up with the same measurement! Is it possible that it could make those kind of gains on a 20 leave secondary on a pumpkin of this size? Circumference sometimes increasing as the pumpkin looses is internal structure and is rotting. Circumference is one of those measurements that changes because of tape placement

A pumpkin could gain 4" in a week. 1 lb per 10 leaves ought to be possible.
