I kinda jumped the gun on getting the pumpkin started so it's a tad large for still being inside. It's been cold and wet on the west coast so preparing the patch has been delayed, but a nice stretch of weather finally allowed us to set up the warming tent. Hoping to put the plant in as soon as the soil warms up a bit.

So far I'm happy with the warming greenhouse - the pop up tent structure beats my old PVC and plastic tent that was put together with electricians tape and binder clips.

Transplanted the 2404 Baron outside a couple days ago - still so cold at night and I didn't put cables in the soil so hoping it's not too much of a shock. I'm out of backups as I started two 1152 Perras plants and have given both away for some interested locals who want to try their hand at pumpkin growing.

It's been a tough go for the plant so far and I wasn't sure it was going to survive. A vine split happened at the base - long story short, no secondaries formed for the first couple feet and the plant is about a month behind in growth. Still, I pollinated a main vine pumpkin today but there's not much plant to back it up. We'll see how it goes. I'll post additional pictures on the state of the plant.

You can see the difference in the first couple feet and the rest of the plant. It may be small, but I think it's determined to survive.

What should be secondary vines is this mess.
